Getting to Bellagio
The airports nearest to Bellagio are the international Milano Malpensa (MXP)
and the more domestically oriented Linate (LIN) and Bergamo.
Many airlines fly direct from the US to Malpensa, but sometimes less expensive fares
are available by flying to London, Paris, or Amsterdam and connecting
on a local airling like Ryan Air.
Once in the area, you can reach Bellagio by car, bus, train, ferry, or hydrofoil.
The trip takes 90 minutes to three hours, depending on how you travel.
By car, Bellagio is about an hour and a half drive from Milano or
the Malpensa airport. You can get a map from any car rental agency.
By far the best car rental rates we have found are with Sixt.
From Malpensa, take the A8 Southeast towards Milan, then head North on the A9
towards Como. In Como follow signs to the SS583 to Bellagio.
It is also possible to hire a car to pick you up at the airport.
Rates vary, but your hotel should be able to quote a price and make arrangements.

Buses from the airports direct to Bellagio run infrequently,
but there are several busses to Como/Cadenabbia/Menaggio throughout out the day.
In the airport terminal, check the information board for schedules.
Busses can be found directly outside upon exiting the terminal.
If the bus goes all the way to Cadenabbia or Mennagio, you can take a shorter ferry ride
from either town to Bellagio (Cadenabbia is closer).
Otherwise, take the bus to Como and transfer to a ferry or hydrofoil to Bellagio.
From Milan or another major rail station, you can take a train to Como
and proceed by boat.
From Como, you can get to Bellagio by bus (about ten times daily,
taking an hour and a half) or, more scenically, by boat.
The boat terminal is about 200 yards from the bus/train terminal,
which is easily walkable without too much luggage, or makes a very short taxi ride.
The hydrofoil takes 45 minutes and runs about every hour during the day
The ferry goes to Bellagio every one to two hours and takes just under two hours.
Please note that while all of the hydrofoils from Como stop in Bellagio,
only about a third ferries stop there.
Most of the hotels in Bellagio are located very near to the boat landing.
Taxis should also be readily available.
While it can take a little while to get to Bellagio, the scenery is beautiful,
the weather usually very mild, and we hope you will enjoy a relaxing trip to
one of the most romantic places on Earth.
