Fried! Turkey!

O and I were dining at one of our favorite local joints recently (Iberia tapas bar) where a TV was on over the bar.  Much to Olivia’s annoyment sometimes, I think I’m a normal male: when the TV is on, that’s where my attention is.  The sound was off, but some cook was going through all the steps on how to fry a turkey.  It looked cool.

Consistency

Continuing the trend of one word titles I’d like to add my word: consistency. Supposedly it’s what makes golf, billiards and everything else so hard (as if hitting a tiny ball with a LONG stick is ever easy). And clearly, it’s what makes or breaks a restaurant.

Brunch at Canteen

We are always in search of good brunch places without crazy lines and impossible parking. (Absinthe remains our stand-by — you’ll understand why if you’ve tried their ricotta-stuffed French toast.) We just discovered that Canteen, the much buzzed about dinner spot (Food & Wine, The San Francisco Chronicle…) long on our must-try list, pocket of a restaurant, serves breakfast throughout the week and brunch on the weekends.
