Chocolate Obsession was named one of Food and Wine's 25 Best Cookbooks. I wholeheartedly agree.

Olivia - you and I must be on the same wavelength - well kind of. I also got that book just before christmas and I was also required to make a dessert for christmas day. Unlike you and the icecream, however, I was obsessed with his recipe for burnt caramel pot de creme. But - that wasn't a very good dessert to make for 20 people, so I made profiteroles too and then instead of putting custard into them I stuffed them with the pot de creme. To be honest my profiteroles weren't worth photgraphing, but I liked the caramel pot de creme a lot, although dare I say it - next time I am going to try it without the chocolate.

I think I have more of a Burnt Caramel obsession than a chocolate one. I am sure Michael R will be ok with that.

Happy New Year!
