[...] What did I expect? Much like Fork & Bottle, I expected “middle-of-the-road style dinner with almost perfect attention-to-detail.” I knew this was comfort food but I still expected the signature meticulous Keller attention to detail. If Ad Hoc could deliver on this expectation, it would be the best comfort food in the Bay area. Blue Plate reigns supreme in this niche but a Keller take on this concept is his for the taking.
HA! So I was googling the recipe for Blue Plates Meatloaf on the off chance it was out there and your site was listed. I saw "Teich" and had to click. You two are total freaks, but you know this :-)

Most of our photos these days are taken with a Canon EOS 20D. For anyone who's interested, the image properties are listed below each photo in our Gallery, which you can get to by clicking any of our photos in this blog.

Hi Olivia,
Thanks for your write-up of The Kitchen. I'm curious (this is a food-blogger poll) what kind of camera you use for your shots on the blog?

You'll appreciate this Stanford-Blue Plate connection. For Storey's special dinner that year, we ate at the Blue Plate before they officially opened to give the wait staff and kitchen staff some practice. It's been great to watch the restaurant garner such excellent reviews in the last 6 years!
